DL So Close to You (July Mix) by Krii

Surprise Monday update for you, because I’m going to be away from the internet for the rest of the week. It’s the last week in July, so that means it’s the last week for me to share this lovely Krii track while it’s in peak season. You remember Krii, right? This is from Rebound, specifically the breakbeat side, as opposed to the house side Lab-909. It was released just over 12 years ago, ages in terms of the internet, so you can pretend this is a history lesson, too.

Wait for the fluff to end and the beat to kick in before passing judgement. While the fluff is nice and continues throughout the track (Krii’s good at that kind of stuff, you can hear it on Osaka (Lovesoul Mix) too), the laid-back beats drive this track forward to enhanced relaxation. The pulsating bassline and piano lines are also great, then the vocal sample kicks in. The seagull samples makes me think this is good to listen to at the beach, the driving beat suggests this might make a nice wake-up track, so go find a place where you can watch the sun rise and crank this up.

It’s now August, which means this track is now slightly “out of season.” I don’t care, which is fine because I’m probably the only person who would notice that or potentially care anyway. Drum & bass fluff, yummy.
