DL Escape from Kurt Russell by shex

Quick Memorial Day update (it’s still Memorial day somewhere, right?), even though every day is like a Monday off when you’re home for the summer. This track came on during my rotation of slower songs (aka my “crawl” playlist) and the snare punched through my head. Seriously, that snare is awesome. It gives the entire track this aggressive feeling and makes me feel like I can’t be stopped. Combined with the steady background percussion and fairly straight feel of the synths, I can just take my time, nothing can slow me down. Sort of like the same feeling I get from this song.

This comes from the third release off of Metrodub, a netlabel which has been releasing great dub-influenced singles for the past couple of months. They’ve got plenty of Gameboy dub tracks as well, including a few by ??? whom you know from MTL. Follow ‘em on Twitter to stay up to date on when the next release is coming out.

k9d says that he’s been busy, if you’re wondering why the last four posts have been by me. He’s learning how to VJ in time for Nullsleep’s show on Thursday. I don’t need to tell you how awesome that concept is and that if you can go to the show you need to.
