DL No Matter by Bears In The Attic

cover for DWK052

Continuing off of the Comfort Fit track I posted a while back and my love of relaxed breaks, this is a funky, incredibly chill track by Bears In The Attic. “Chill” not in the sense that it relaxes, “chill” in the sense that when you listen to it, you feel like a total badass that doesn’t need to care about anything because you are just that bad.

It’s probably the 70’s funk bass guitar that sets that off in me, the feeling that I am in complete control of the situation and nothing can stop me. It’s perfect to listen to if you’re on the move, its steady groove will keep you moving. Beyond the groove, there’s plenty of fun jazzy things going on in this track that keep it interesting, like the trumpet that keeps weaving in and out of the song.

This track comes from Protein Sound, which wouldn’t sound out of place on Ninja Tune. It’s released on Dusted Wax Kingdom, a massive hotspot for chill tracks like this one. They might not make you feel like a badass, but they are good, funky, jazzy, and a bit on the relaxed side. What I’ve heard from them has been nothing but quality.

I’m on a serious abstract hip hop kick right now, Dusted Wax Kingdom inspired me to start skimming Ninja Tune’s catalog and that’s pretty cool too.
