DL NinjaSnakes (Diskmedel Mix) by Psilodump
As I mentioned yesterday, I love Psilodump. I’ve yet to find a song of his I don’t like, which given the large number of songs he’s made and how distinct they are from each other, really says something. They sometimes seems weird at first, but they grow on me very quickly.
So what about this track? It’s Swedish techno. From my extremely limited experience with this style, it’s based around pulsating mechanical rhythms to the point where the rhythms are the melody. Not funky or weirdly syncopated or anything, just straightforward rhythms pumping furiously. You may find it too abrasive, or you may want to dance so hard you break your computer.
This track comes off of a virtual 12”, Room With No Exit, complete with virtual noise, so you might want to consider playing it with the MR1200. Room With No Exit is a fairly good example of what to expect from Psilodump: pretty much anything. The other three tracks on it are electro, filter house, and Psilodump’s own brand of chipmusic.
And just a reminder: starPause is going to be here tonight. Where will you be?
